Edilens works on your computer: your videos are not sent to our servers. This page lists the only data that leaves it, why, where it goes and how long it is kept.

Data controller

Valtore (SAS au capital de 11 000 €, RCS Lyon 132 267 618), publisher of Edilens — edilens.official@gmail.com.

What stays on your computer

Your videos, projects, exports and editing history stay on your computer. We have no access to them.

The app also keeps a security log (abnormal attempts to access the app) that stays on your computer and is never sent to us.

The data we process

  • Account: email address, display name if you set one, password (stored encrypted by Supabase: we do not know it), creation and sign-in dates.
  • Credits and usage: balance, credit transactions, and the amount of AI analysis used each day (number of requests, audio duration, text volume), without their content.
  • AI analysis: to transcribe and analyze a video, the app sends the audio track, then the transcript text and your instructions, to our server, which forwards them to OpenAI and returns the answer. Our server does not store them.
  • Preferences synced with your account, such as your custom filler words.
  • Security: email confirmation and password reset codes (stored encrypted, single use), anti-abuse counters based on a fingerprint of the IP address and email.
  • Support: if you write to us, your email address and your message.

Why

  • Providing the service (account, credits, AI analysis): performance of the contract, i.e. the terms of use.
  • Protecting the service and its users against fraud and abuse: our legitimate interest.
  • Answering your messages: performance of the contract, or our legitimate interest.

No ads, no data resale, no advertising trackers. The website sets a single cookie, to remember the language you choose.

Who receives it

Only the technical providers the service needs, each for its own task:

  • Supabase: database and accounts, servers in Ireland (European Union).
  • Vercel: hosting of the server and the website. US company; the Edilens server runs in Dublin (European Union).
  • OpenAI: transcription and analysis, USA. OpenAI does not use data received through its API to train its models, and may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse.
  • Resend: sending emails (confirmation, password, support), USA.
  • GitHub: installer downloads, USA.

Transfers outside the European Union rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Payments: Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ireland), which processes payments on behalf of Valtore. Edilens never sees your card number, only the purchase email address, the billing country and what was bought.

How long

  • Account, credits, usage and preferences: as long as your account exists. After a deletion request, they are erased within 30 days; automatic backups expire on their own 7 days later.
  • Confirmation codes: a few minutes. Anti-abuse counters: 24 hours.
  • Server technical logs (IP address, errors): a few days at most.
  • Support messages: as long as needed to handle the request, then 3 years at most.

Your rights

You can access your data, correct it, erase it, get a copy in a readable format, object to processing or ask for it to be restricted. Write to edilens.official@gmail.com from your account's address: we answer within one month.

To delete your account, use the same address.

If you believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with your data protection authority — in France, the CNIL.

Security

Service access keys stay on our server, never in the app. Connections are encrypted (HTTPS) and our admin accounts are protected by two-factor authentication.

If a data breach affects you, we will notify you and the CNIL, as the law requires.

Minimum age

Edilens is for people aged 15 and over.

Changes

Before any significant change to this policy, we let you know by email or in the app.
